The Validation des Acquis de l’Expérience (VAE)
The Validation des Acquis de l’Expérience (VAE) is a means of obtaining a degree, opened by the social modernization law of 17 January 2002 and by the decree of 4 July 2017.
The degree recongnizes acquired knowledge during a person's professional life. All certifications registered with the Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles (Professional Certifications Registry) are concerned.
But this degree is not obtained automatically. It requires going through a defined procedure, by law, by each higher education institution.
All candidates must be able to justify:
- experience of paid, unpaid or volunteer activity, whether continuous or not, for a total of at least 1 year;
- in direct relation with the degree sought.
The statistical engineering degree (diplôme d'ingénieur) given out through the VAE is the same as the one earned and obtained through class work. Evaluation criteria for acquired skills are of the same demanding nature. Indeed, experience (whether professional or volunteer), generally associated with statistical engineering work, is indispensable.
The fact that your experience allowed you to acquire knowledge, skills and capacities that can justify obtaining our degree.
The acquired experience you have obtained are looked at by a VAE jury in the context of paperwork you will have fille dout, and during an interview.
The jury is made up of professors / researchers from our school and also of professionals. They will decide whether either the degree will be attributed in its entirety, whether it will be attributed under the condition of further developing skills, or whether to refuse to attribute the degree if the acquired experience doesn't correspond to our degree.
The global objective is to determine the correspondence between the acquired knowledge through your experience and the capacites and skills certified through our degree.
Thus, you will file an application presenting and analyzing your experience to show the quality of what you have acquired regarding our degree. You will need to choose one of the six specializations offered by the school.
Based on this application, you will then have an interview with the VAE jury. Part of this interview could take place in English.
The jury will pay attention to your work, your accomplishments, the methodologies used, as well as the knowledge and skills that you used in order to act.
